All right, last drawing of today (even though it’s already tomorrow - eek?)
This is an idea that’s been stewing in my head for a while… WuXia Alternate Universe!
(for those of you who don’t know, wuxia is basically what Bioware was trying to copy with Jade Empire)
This is Anders the qigong healer. I have a whole scenario of how Meredith is one of the emperor’s advisors or something and is trying to round up all the kungfu users and keep them under control…
I am not sure how to translate their names though. If I just went phonetic, maybe Anders could be 安达 (an da)? lol…
that thing on his back would be his portable herb clinic, or something…

oh god, it’s actually…effortless how the genres blend. collecting your party members through sheer luck along the way. you’ve got your gamblers (rogues) and your swordsmen (warriors) and the healers are your mages… this au works so incredibly well, and qi-gong healer anders, with that hair payroo that hair… this i just such a brilliant concept and a fantastic execution. i am chin in my hands demanding storytime now. anders still has all those anders-y things that make him so him, the air he has, the gravity, the burdens he carries. this has captured my entire brain right now, i am so sorry for the adoring ramble.

I SEE CHINESE
for what it’s worth, Anders is 安德斯 (āndésī) in the Chinese booklets, a very common transcription of the name. IMHO the 德 (dé) is prettier here than 达 (dá) — “德” meaning “virtue” and “kindness” (a straight-forward heart!) vs “达“‘s “arrival”.
(p.s. this is awesome ;-;)

HAHA now I am going to have to do the whole cast… ;D I’m glad people seem to be intrigued by this AU~
and oooh, I must see this Chinese booklet! Or at least know everyone else’s name! I’m quite bad at transliterating :P
安德斯does sound a lot better than 安达! If you take off the 斯 at the end it almost sounds like an actual Chinese name… even though it’s a little girly, lol.

No one else has nearly as nice a name, as they’re all using the semi-standard transliterations. Would be fun to come up with proper sinoesque names. XD
